3 Tips to Properly Prep for Painting

We all know the basics to preparing a room to be painted, and oftentimes that will be enough to get us by. But accidents happen, and the pros know that with some extra preparation beforehand, you prevent your furniture and room from getting ruined by paint. Here are 3 tips you should know:

  • Of course you'll want to move furniture to the center of the room, but make sure you also cover them with a tarp, as splatters could still damage them.
  • To protect your floor, you put down a drop cloth, but make sure it's the right material. Use a material cloth with liner on one side so it's not slippery and still protects against paint seeping through.
  • You'll want to remove or tape around light fixtures and knobs, and also cover them with a bag for further protection.

Remember, here at Home Services Unlimited, LLC we specialize in painting homes and businesses throughout Northern Virginia. We have over 30 years of experience in painting homes and businesses in places like Manassas, McClean, Arlington, Fairfax, Chantilly, and in many other communities.
