In order to decide whether you should hire a moving company or do it yourself, consider the potential pitfalls in doing it yourself:
- Property damage - This can result from not properly loading items, not packing them appropriately in the truck, or in transit.
- Time and Manpower - Do you have enough of these to make the move yourself?
- Other Expenses - Renting the truck, taking out mover's insurance, the gas for the truck, etc. - these can all be extra costs that you weren't counting on.
Moving isn't as easy as it seems! Be sure to take into account all these factors so you don't end up having it cost more doing it yourself than it would have been to hire.
