Plumbing for the Bathtub

Have you got a new tub but not sure how to install the piping? If you're doing it yourself, keep reading - we'll give you an overview of the necessary steps!

First, you'll need to apply primer to the opening of your pipes. A purplish, thin liquid, primer cleans and prepares the pipes for concrete. You'll need to apply it both on the inside and outside of the joints of the pipes. Then, you need to apply an even layer of concrete. Press the pipes together that you want attached for 5-10 seconds to get a good seal. Now, you need to place them where they need to go. A good method for temporarily keeping pipes in place is to duct tape them there. All that's left is to screw in the drains to the tub, connect the piping, and you'll be ready for a hot bath in no time!
