How to Build Stairs for Your Yard

Today, we've got another DIY project for you - outdoor stairs. These can come useful for a backdoor that's off the ground or a deck, so be sure to keep reading to find out how to make them!

First, you'll need to create your "stringers" or "carriages," which are basically the supports for the stairs (on the side). Measure out the rise and run, the rise being the vertical size of the step and the run being the horizontal. Aim for a 6-8 inch rise and a 10-16 inch run for comfortable steps. Cut them out with a jigsaw.

You'll need to make sure there's more support, so attach your stair posts. Finally, you can screw in the stairs and railings and complete the project.
