In the video below, she engages in a project to make her kitchen island big enough for the family to sit at, have additional storage space, and beautifully match the rest of her kitchen. Don't settle for an island that you don't like hack it to do what you want!
Here are some of Joanne's ideas to get you started:
- Use salvaged materials: search at your local architectural shop for high-quality doors that aren't being used they can make for great kitchen island siding!
- Make your kitchen island bigger: Joanne built over her original island, giving it a solid base while expanding it to meet her needs. You can do the same just plan out what you want it to do and expand!
- Repurpose it: maybe you want people to sit as well as prepare food there. No problem! Use salvaged materials and you can do it on the cheap.
