How to Build a Window Box

Building an attractive Window Box can be a fun and rewarding project to undertake. It will certainly add some style to your home and it can give you some new space for planting!

The first thing you will want to do is to select the building material to use. Use MDO to build a window box as it is weather-resistant and is more affordable than redwood (another great material to use).

Once the box is finished, you will be able to sand, primer and paint the box. Be sure to use a heavy duty paint which is water-resistant to insure longer-lasting boxes. After it is dry, fill it with the type of soil you need and put in the plants.

TIP: If you plant flowering plants, be sure to keep track of the amount of sunlight and water the plant needs to stay healthy. Also, pluck off any spent flowers to keep your plants looking fresh.
