Pedestal sinks are beautiful vanities that can bring elegance to any bathroom. The potential plumbing problems involved, however, are anything but elegant. We don't wish to discourage you from installing one in your bathroom, but rather to inform you of the things that may go wrong.
The basic problem deals with the sink's rough plumbing. This is the supply and waste pipes that you will need to hook up to your pedestal sink. If the rough plumbing is too high or too low, you may need a plumber to redo your plumbing. Also, if you wish your sink to be in a different place in the bathroom, you will need to reroute your pipes.
