The classic look of a fireplace is brick, so odds are you've been stuck with one. For some people, the look suits them great. If you're looking to change your fireplace to tile, however, you've come to the right place. It's not too hard of a task, but make sure you follow these steps to do it right.
- Throw a cloth over the hearth so it doesn't get ruined.
- Remove the mantel from the brick.
- Clean up any loose dust and pebbles.
- Wipe white vinegar over the brick and let it dry for 1-2 days.
- Put a thin layer of cement over the brick and into the cracks so it makes an even surface. Let it sit overnight.
- Spread a second layer of cement.
- Put on tiles.
That's all it takes to redo your fireplace! Now sit back and enjoy the look of your new tiled fireplace. For more instructions, follow the link here.
